Short answers.
How often should I change my filter?
Most homes do well with a new filter every one to three months. Check it monthly in summer, when the system runs the most. A clogged filter makes the system work harder.
My AC is running but the house is still warm. Why?
Common causes are a dirty filter, a frozen coil, low refrigerant or a failing part. If you see ice on the unit, turn the system off and call. Running it can cause more damage.
How long does a system last?
Many systems last 12 to 15 years with regular care. Hot, humid summers like Atlanta's are hard on equipment, so yearly tune-ups help.
